Details

The White House Historical Association has been manufacturing an annual ornament since 1981. Each year, a new design is created honoring the next President in succession. The 2011 White House Ornament highlights Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909) and celebrates his young family in the White House. The front of the ornament is an illustration derived from a political cartoon by William A. Rogers, which captures the anticipation on the family’s first Christmas in the White House. As jolly Santa Claus crosses the North Lawn with a bag of toys over his shoulder, he announces, “I hear that there are some kids in the White House this year.”
